Compulsory Training - Training you have to do

If you lead children or young people in any ministry connected to PCANZ, you MUST complete our full Safety WOF Training. This free practical course equips you for ministry and helps create a great safe environment for children and young people.

The Safety WOF Training comprises of three sessions:

Session 1: Intro & Ethical Practice

Session 2: Health and Safety

Session 3: Safe recruitment and responding to abuse

The course can be run in your church or you can join us online.

Essential Training - Training we really want you to do

Developing leaders is vital in youth ministry. Many of us are here because someone believed in us and helped us grow—and now its our turn!

Emerge is a free two-year video-based programme that builds servant leadership in young people (Year 11+), growing their character, skills, and sense of calling. It takes under 10 hours a year to run and has received great feedback from churches.

PYM Youth Ministry Essentials is 101 training for ALL youth leaders in the PCANZ. This short video- based course is designed to get every leader up to speed with insights in 7 essential areas”

Presbyterian Youth Ministry is part of the Knox Centre for Ministry and Leadership Team of the PCANZ.

PYM’s mission is to support local churches and presbyteries in their call to connect with, nurture, disciple and equip young people (aged 10-30) in life and faith.

PYM works collaboratively with presbytery youth coaches, other PCANZ departments and other denominations and agencies to carry out this mission.
